The end of SteveIsaacs.tv?
Posted on: June 7, 200925 comments so far (is that a lot?)
Looks like it might be. On Friday yet another Goddamn camera was stolen. I’m over it. I carry my camera all the time, so sometimes I’m not as vigilant as I should be, but this is ridiculous. This makes 3 pricey Canon HD camcorders swiped since December. I don’t know if I can go through all this again. Maybe the universe is trying to tell me something.
Tons of Great NYC Footage to Edit
Posted on: May 27, 20093 comments so far (is that a lot?)
The last two weekends all the stars aligned: The weather was flawless, and there were TONS of things to see and do all over NYC- perfect conditions for my videos. I checked out the NYC Dance Parade and have lots of crazy images of dancers and kooks of all shapes and sizes. On Memorial Day weekend, I strolled around the newly renovated Washington Square Park, the Loisida Puerto Rican street fair, did a late night walk of the new traffic-free Times Square, and lots of little journeys in between. A big editing job is ahead of me, but I’ll try to get the stuff up as soon as possible.
And yes, the New York Pizza Tour is coming soon. Hope to begin shooting this weekend! Thanks for watching.
TweetFreek’s Tweet of the Day

For some moments, there are no words… but I’ll try.
Thanks to AdWeek’s awesome TweetFreak blog for spotlighting my little musing about MySpace, the subway and Purel. Nice to know I’m not alone.
This… was such a surprise, I didn’t ready an acceptance speech – um, it’s just an honor to be nominated… I’d like to thank the Academy, God…

Sound Too Low? Yeah.

Thanks to Dafire, I discovered that my new videos with the new camera are WAY too low volumewise. Sorry about that. I’m working on re-exporting the last two videos and re-uploading.
Update: Did the best I could and re-uploaded the last two videos. Figured out what happened, and the new ones should be fine.
Really Bad News

My camera was lost/stolen yesterday while having a bite in Hoboken, NJ. I don’t have any jokes to go along with this cause it’s a total bummer. That was my 2nd Canon HF10. I won’t be able to make a new video till I figure out what to do about this.
Weird Playback Issues and What’s Next
Posted on: March 24, 20091 comment so far
Having playback issues? I’m aware that if you turn HD off, that the videos play out of sync. This is a Vimeo growing pain and they apparently are on the case. It opens up a larger question – whey would you turn HD off? It takes extra time to get the videos looking sweet here on steveisaacs.tv – enjoy them in full HD quality whydon’tcha!
Sorry for the lag in posting a new video, I hate to say it’s because I’m busy, but that’s the exact reason why. I’m in a brainstorming crunch at work and all my available thought cycles are being thrown at making shit happen over here. I’ll try to get the new one up today.
Here’s the stuff that’s been on my mind lately that might make it in to the next few videos:
The Battlestar Galactica finale.
Online Spoiler Etiquette.
The Cut and Paste Design Competition in NYC this weekend.
Stopping and Smelling the Damn Roses.
Copyright Law.
Back Attack and Posting Mojo

This weekend I was washing my cat Chalupa when he went bonkers, and as I tried to hold him, tweaked my back something fierce. No bueno. Been resting and popping pain pills etc. Didn’t get a video out over the weekend as a result. So that’s MY news…
AS for the vlog, I’ve decided to post to Vimeo and YouTube after I post the videos here on steveisaacs.tv. Ultimately I’d rather you watch them here where I can make the experience the best one possible, and with the new speedy webhost, I’m pretty confident it will be. So if you notice the Vimeo and YouTube postings a few days after they appear here, well that’s why.
Happy St. Patties Day!
New Webhost – Moved to Mosso
Posted on: March 7, 20092 comments so far (is that a lot?)
This site has been really a pain in the ass lately and I apologize. I have been with my web host, Media Temple for over a decade, but things have been dreadful lately – coincidentally since around the time I started steveisaacs.tv. Behind the scenes I’ve been fighting, calling tech support, annoying my friends with questions, re-doing things and staying THIS CLOSE to going on a murder spree when nothing seemed to help.
Today I couldn’t take it anymore and moved over to Mosso. It sure ain’t cheap, but I hope it’ll all be worth it. I want this to be a site that you can enjoy that’s fast and always online, cause hey… my inane babbling really deserves the BEST that the Internetosphere has to offer, right?
So once again, I hope this solved any issues that might have been a drag, and if you notice anything squirrely about the new setup, please let me know!
Videos Coming Up Next – Facebook, Watchmen, and Pizza
Posted on: March 4, 20091 comment so far
Here’s what’s on the slate for upcoming vlogs here at steveisaacs.tv. Feel free to give me some ideas for new videos in the comments.
1) Facebook Changes: Today Facebook went all Facebook crazy again and announced some big changes coming starting next week. I’ll take a look at what’s coming.
2) Marketing the Watchmen Movie: I’m 24 hours from a full-blown geekgasm at the midnight showing of Watchmen. I’ll take a look at the gigantic marketing campaign to see how they are getting out the message (Watchmen condoms – really!?!)
3) Watchmen Review: Of course I’ll fill you in on how the movie is on Friday with dual versions with spoilers and without.
4) Pizza Tour of NYC: My friend Karen and I plan to trek around the city and try out every pizza place worth a damn.
Working on Smoother Video

Of all viewers, My Mom let me know how jumpy my videos were playing. I was aware of this, but chalked it up to the fact embedded Vimeo needs to be put on pause until the whole video is loaded, then playback is smooth.
I wrote to Vimeo support and they set me straight about my export settings: I should use 25 frames per second, and a keyframe every 30 frames (for the videoheads out there). That seemed to do the trick, so I’m going to re-export as many videos as I can at this new setting and hopefully playback here will be a dream come true riding atop a magical unicorn of golden dreams.
If not, please let me know how playback here on steveisaacs.tv is for you!
By the way, Vimeo Support’s Dalas Verdugo wrote me back in about 2 minutes with great info to get me on the right track. Hats off to Vimeo for once again being the horn on the magical unicorn of online video.
YouTube Deletes My Audio Tracks
Posted on: March 3, 200917 comments so far (is that a lot?)
Last night’s video “Skittles, Twitter and the Snowstorm” featured one of my “EndVideos”, where I cut some scenic video shots with a song. Well, Warner Music Group and YouTube cut the audio from my video for copyright infringement. I’m going to try to find a workaround, but if you want the full steveisaacs.tv experience, I recommend you watch the videos here and forget about YouTube.
I add music for the enjoyment of my viewers and for promotion of the bands I choose. This isn’t copyright infringement. Someday maybe the record industry will see this, but I doubt they will ever get it. Do they stop music from being played in bars, clubs or parties? Of course not. Why is someone using music in the same way any different?
What do you think?
My Webhost is an Asshole

I know the site has been really unreliable lately, I’m at my wits end with my web host. Currently I’m looking for candidates to move over to. Thanks for your patience, and I’m sorry for the pain-in-the-assness.
