Springtime and Squid Tentacles

04-14-09: Springtime hits New York. Some friends and I walk down to Japanese market in SoHo for sushi and to check out the usual scary seafood items they sell there.

they put out the cows!! Chicago had those for a while, then they had crazy furniture… a couch that looked like a cake, a space-agey chair, etc. Maybe I can dig up some pics.

That squid is really nasty… I have a rule that I don’t eat anything with tentacles.

Since the store didn’t let you video, you should go in with a photo camera and snap away lol

If you’re ever up in Ontario, Canada, please come to my video game/dvd rental store which is dying a slow and painful death. Yes, we are one of those “floundering, loser companies”, albeit a teeny weeny one. The suckass economy driving people to piracy plus the ease of ordering movies on demand from the comforts of one’s own couch are both factors in our impending demise, and an endorsement from SteveIsaacsTV would rock! In actual fact, it probably wouldn’t help us any, but it would be damn fun. lol Just kidding, but Sunrise Mart didn’t know what they were missing. :) Loved the vid, the trees are stunning, almost as glorious as your purple hair which is also very cool. :) Thanks for the entertainment, especially the squid tentacles. Hopefully my stomach will settle back down by dinnertime. Have a good one!

First video I see you don’t say the date in the end! I just loved the part where you say about your endorsing! They’re so dumb! People would travel to go to that store! Anyway, I’ll draw you to see if you endorse that. ;D

It’s good to “see” you again… makes me miss NYC, which seems strange being that I’m trying like hell to not have to go back permanently. Hi Ryan K!

Maria, that is not the Cow Parade, which is what I’m assuming you’re referring to ;)

I wonder what happened to that project. I always felt cheated that Los Angeles got Angels and New York got Cows. Kinda lame.

We seem to have all grown up eating something weird.
That would be a good one as well. What weird food did you grow up eating. Me being Mexican, Manudo, when I found out it was some kind of cow intenstine, I just about died. How about cow tongue, not bad!!!!

I have a friend bring me freeze dried fish from Japan, shredded haddock, it is really a great snack. I seriously could not eat the tentacles though. Maybe I would allow my cats to try that but ewwww for human consumption.

HEY! i love sunshine mart. give em another chance.

the stuff they carry is great and priced relatively well. the workers probably just didnt understand why you were doing what you were doing and were afraid of getting in trouble for something by the bosses.

i recommend the red bean sweet buns
and there’s this weird mugwart herbally bottled iced tea stuff by saporo brand that i crave and is hard to find but they sell it there mmmm

think that was the last stop i made before i left for berlin back in MAY 08 (last stop i made 2nd time in january was at whole foods, also for spicy tuna sush (w brown rice mmmm) though if i was closer to sunrise i woulda gone there fo sho!!)
