he he…when I first started learning…lynda books are the bestest!! no need for classes, but if you are that type take it. But, the books are awesome. great tutorials. And even before learning via books, that second link you provided is exactly what I used for the basics.

Anyhow, I think it is ridiculous that youtube takes the music out. I think it’s lame. Probably as a result of all those dumb videos that have the whole song playing and a slideshow going at the same time…that’s NOT VIDEO! And even so, it’s not like you are giving out the music, you even give the credits. Well, I’ve discovered a band or two through out, so thank you very much! and I hope you will continue to educate technology and music.

I appreciate your work and effort….serious appreciation!

Matt, I’d say take an online class. I have some friends who have done this and they got skills quickly and for not too much money. I took a class at http://www.lynda.com/ and a friend learned a ton at http://www.w3schools.com/. Good luck!

As an ex-Producer & songwriter…I understand the need for copyright law and synchronization fees. The music business moved WAY TO SLOW on dealing with issues like this and now having them delete Steve Isaacs Vlog music is ridiculous!
I have had SNL rip-off my songs and use them without sync licenses due to archaic LIVE NEWS braodcasting laws still on the books…The SI Vlog is free and so there should be no infringement involved…I love the out videos and the music…keep it up!

Jimmie: Thanks, but I don’t think anyone is really watching my vids so closely on YouTube, (check out my AWESOME view counts ) I think they must have some kind of Shazam-like bot that can tell if music is in your video (at least Warner Bros. music) and BAM – the audio track is zeroed.

The record industry is just ridiculous – how they handle what some record company execs still call “NEW media” (can you believe this?) sucks so bad… And I´m totally with you on the copyright law – again it´s just ridiculous…

Bravo, dude. I totally agree with you on the use of music in videos. I do not believe it is an infringement on copyright laws unless, of course, it is used for monetary purposes.

Don’t take it so personally. I would consider it an honor that someone has been watching my videos that closely
