02-24-09: The Academy Awards have once again filled our hearts with overflowing joy, holocaust drama nominees and weeping millionaires. Here’s my recap of Sunday’s telecast complete with Reese Witherspoon’s chin, Will Smith’s hair, and Philip Seymour Hoffman’s hat.

I also was unimpressed with those musical numbers….the kids from HighSchool Musical…really? They can get up on the Oscar stage and sing for 5 minutes but Peter Gabriel only was going to get a minute? For his OSCAR NOMINATED song? Really? Then we are stuck with John Legend, who can sing but not a Peter Gabriel song, singing it during a piece that sort of felt like a Slumdog Millionaire tribute. I thought THAT was bullshit but the Oscars overall were entertaining. We had a party at my house and we were all cracking up at the loop they were playing under people as they were giving their acceptance speeches of PO from Kung Fu Panda eating a dumpling. Who chose that?

That was hilarious, haha
Totally agree on the Beyoncé thing, that was ridiculous
I hate musicals, but I did like Hugh’s musical moments, though, particularly with Anne hathaway (drool). Best moment of the night was Ben Stiller!

I think maybe Phillip S.H. is probably sporting a ‘bald look’ for a movie and decided to cover up rather than use a wig. I’m just assuming by the way…

When Hugh J was singing it reminded of the time when Rob Lowe was dancing around on stage with Snow White (and I think some other Disney characters) singing some lame ass song. At was hysterical.
