Steve’s Twitter Tips Part 2

02-18-09: Here are a few more starting points for getting what you want out of Twitter.
1. ReTweeting: It’s important to ReTweet and give credit. Why? Cause the Interwebospshere wants it that way.
2. How do you know if someone is following you? I show you where to look… which leads us to Robert Scoble.

End Video: A cab ride around NYU and Chalupa is confused by snow fall.
Music: Dr. Dog “The Breeze”

The last time I saw your show you were still on Vimeo. Congrats, the new site looks great!
I have a FOF that just started twitter yesterday and he wanted to know what the best app for the iPhone was. He also needs some basic orientation on how to use twitter. It’s a good thing I saw your link on ff. Now I can answer all his questions by sending him the links to your video. BTW, your advice is right on target. I prefer to use http://monitter.com to do a subject search on twitter. Because it is real-time, it can also be entertaining to watch when a live event is taking place. Try it during the Academy awards if you get a chance. Thanks, coming here was serendipitous.

I forgot one thing. For anyone new to Twitter, this is one mistake I’ve noticed new users occasionally make. Unless you have a good reason, don’t block your updates. People need to see what you’re all about in order to determine if they want to follow you or not. It’s an easy way to deter people from following you back, if that’s what you want.

Hi Steve! Thank you so much for your Twitter tutorials. I joined Twitter months ago but didn’t really get it and was disouraged. Just recently revisited the site, but I had so many questions and you’ve helped me get a much clearer understanding of what it’s about and my Twitter experience will be so much more enjoyable. You’re a natural-born teacher I think. You rock!
    Thanks!
    Tricia
