02-17-09: Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails announced yesterday that he’s been recording the reformed Jane’s Addiction and that both bands will head out on the road this year. This is really amazing news. Jane’s Addiction is not only one of the best bands of all time, but also one of my personal favorites. Dave Navarro and Stephen Perkins from Jane’s and I started a band a few years back called The Panic Channel as well. This tour is great news for music fans, and I couldn’t be more excited.
In Twitter news, Lily Allen and Perez Hilton are having a bit of a Twitter bitch fight and you can follow along.

Great video today. I’m very excited about this Jane’s NIN tour this year. I will travel to see them (I doubt Utah will be a stop, but you never know. Trent has always made it a point to make a stop here in Salt Lake).
And I’m happy you mentioned The Panic Channel, which I got to see once back in June 2006 here in Salt Lake. Your connection with Jane’s over the years, both as a fan and as a member of the “band”, is something any musician would be jealous of.

Hey Steve, great news! I hope Jane´s remembers Brasil. By the way, how about you picking the guitar and doing a little music for us? Maybe an ongoing thing with guests…just an idea
Take care

It’s amazing news. The only down side is that Trent is saying that after the tour it’ll be time to make the band disappear for a while. It’s also great that Jane’s is doing their thing. Love the Panic Channel as well.

[...] Dessa vez com o line-up original, tendo o baixista Eric Avery de volta ao grupo. Ouvi uma do Steve Isaacs que concordo 100%, “se olharmos para a música alternativa do final dos anos 80 como uma [...]

and… TV on the Radio are opening the show. Three fucking stellar bands that I adore… may just be enough to pull me out of my hermit-like state.
Come out to So Cal, crash at the house, bring your girl. We’ll all go relive our youth (with less… checmical… influence) together.
Cheers, mate.

Shortly after the “Ritual” record was released I saw them at a pretty small venue in Düsseldorf (Germany). With the spanish spoken intro from the “Ritual”- record on Eric Avery came onstage first, his upper body naked, strapping on his bass so it hung near down his knees. As soon as the intro stopped he started to play the first notes of “Up The Beach”. It was one of the most magical musical moments EVER… Hope they bring the magic back…

Rantz…
Wait.
What?!
TVoTR are opening? Where did you hear this? Dear lord baby jeebus.
For me, this is the ultimate trifecta.
*prays for this to be true*

I was at the aforementioned Lollapalooza at the Shoreline, and feel compelled to fill in a couple of gaps from the “pysch…” phase of the evening:
Jane’s Addiction…
The violin player who climbed the rigging piers on the side of the stage during classic girl.
The girls in the southern belle dresses on the swing during Ted, Just Admit It
NIN…
The water fight between TR and his gtr player at the time where they would line up on Stage Right and Left and run full steam into each other.
ACIVITIES
The stack of pianos with the tops off and mics embedded so anyone could play the strings with drumsticks to make spontaneous music.
And on and on….

Jeff: Thanks so much. We had such a great time playing together, and I bet the next time we’re all living in the same city we’ll make some more music
